Freedom is non-negotiable

And Palestine will be free.

War again. Endless war.

Dead children in the streets. Women, men, young and old, dying side by side.

Nothing matters anymore when the world crashes around you. When those you love suffocate in the rubble, when babies get torn apart by shrapnel, invisible missiles from above. The suffering is never-ending.

I’ve never experienced war. I was lucky. Just a baby. But my parents have; back in Yugoslavia. They never recovered and they never will. They told me things I cannot forget.

Endless war.

An unprovoked attack, they say. Decades of genocide, apartheid, and violence are nothing to them. So many futures taken, so many lives destroyed.

In the name of imperialism, atrocities are committed day in and day out. In the year 2023, an apartheid state of illegal settlers is given free rein to do whatever they want.

Ancestral lands illegally taken. They don’t matter. Nothing matters but geopolitical interests and money. Who cares about a few Arabs, right? If they don’t have oil we don’t fucking want them.

No one is justifying attacks on civilians.

Imagine, for a moment. Imagine growing up in an enclosed land, a second-hand citizen, a subhuman. Poverty, destruction, and hate, just so much hate. You lose a cousin, a brother, a sister, a mother, whatever. You just lose and lose and lose and there is no future for you, nothing you can do, no escape, no hope, only losing and losing. Depression and pain.

Whatever you lose, the hate remains. Generational suffering breeds extremism and we wonder why they resist.

The hate drives you. They corner you and then wonder why you snap.

Why do they resist?

Should they not just bend over and accept their oppressors? Should they not just give up everything they live for? Their culture, their religion, their family, their land? First the British, then the Israelis. How much can a people suffer without breaking? Humans are remarkable.

But fuck religion. Fuck both religions, and fuck races. This is about justice, and most of all about freedom.

“No one is free until all are free.”

Well, no one is free.

The hypocrisy is mind-bogglingly terrifying. “Slava Ukraini!” but fuck those Arabs. They’re all terrorists. They’re not white enough and they call their god a different name. Their customs are foreign to us. How dare they resist? How dare they fight? How dare they turn to extremism and terrorism in the face of a more profound extremism and terrorism?

There is no good in war and no side can win. But there is a right to fight for your life, your family, your land, your way of living, and, most of all, your freedom.

They will never rest. They will not rest until the land is cleansed. And we will watch and come up with justifications as we always do. From the sofas in our living rooms, we will deliver weapons, goods, dollar bills drenched in blood, and we will celebrate when nothing remains but our way of living and those of our allies, for we are supreme, infallible. We will invent reasons, we will fabricate evidence, we will turn history fucking upside down, for truth hasn’t mattered in a long time. The past is alterable, the present is to be altered, and the future is ours. Commentators and experts will have their shit to add to the great pile of shit.

How much longer? How many wars? When will it be done? What have we achieved but suffering? A few hundred million relish in wealth while the rest fight for scraps.

Next week, another war. Next month, another genocide. All hail the Empire.

Empires fall. They always do and this one will, too. Others will take its place, and they will also crumble. Until then, an ocean of death.
