I strive to "protect and nurture passions like precious embers in a rainstorm." Thanks for this piece. I hadn't framed the future playing out like this, yet, but it's now imprinted in my vision.

Keep it up, mate. Without passion there is nothing.

A good picture of what our lives in these times really feel like ... long stretchs of boredom in between the disasters and panics. This needs to be said, and you said it well. Surely we can do better than this ...

I won't give up either! There's always something worth fighting for.

There´s always so much worth fighting for. I think that part of capitalist realism has been precisly to nurture these idea that there is no alternative to what there is. Therefore, to make us believe that we cannot change what we are fighting for. We can <3

TINA (there is no alternative) is, and has always been, a lie. The alternative is always available, just usually unpleasant...

Nice.

What speech synthesis are you using, if you don't mind sharing? I seem to have to upload my own, but want the melodic, robotic voice of TTS too… 😢

This voice is finer in the toneation (?) of sentences as the medium plug in IMHO

Speech synthesis? What?

Yeah, I saw that thing too. We are writers, not often public speakers (insert fear emoji). So it's easy to miss.

Text to speech. You have the play button on most of your essays on the top right corner, where one can listen to the essay...

Ah, that's an automated Substack feature. I have no control over it.

Ah, okay.

Strange that not all essays have this feature enabled automatically. Seems super random somehow.

Thanks and have an amazing week Antonio! :)
