Thank you for that. Also please read Stephen Harrod Buhner’s work. Yeah we are toast but we can be toast with completely connected hearts, to ourselves, each other and all that is …
This weirdo feels seen by this excellent essay. Last year I was working in broadcast news as a literal cog in the mass media brainwashing machine, but I couldn't do it anymore. Trying to find something meaningful to do with my life instead.
If I ever commit an act of violence on a grand scale I’m using this as a manifest. Thanks again for making me feel a little less alone in facing this f*cked up world, love u❤️
Quite right...we're all there, in that same weltschmerz...thinking that at some point everything just has to become alright...but no, it's just the abyss staring back at us. Thanks for finding the words that I couldn't.
Thank you for putting our collective frustration into words. I enjoyed reading.
I do hope you find meaning and joy through direct experience in daily life as this topic is generally understood on a broader conceptual level which can unfortunately pollute the present moment.
Agree with many of your assertions. There has to be some point to it, Life, and a judgement at some point. I personally believe this is a test and we are subjected to various trials. In the end what we have learned we can "keep". Just my 2 cents.
"We want the world to be fair, but it isn’t. We want some cosmic justice, but it never arrives."
Maybe it will arrive some day--the cosmic justice. We all want to see it, but maybe that's where the unfairness part comes in. It's going to be one of our descendants who will see it. So... we gotta keep going to make sure somebody eventually does!
Thank you for this, exactly how I feel, I share the same thoughts, thank you for writing.
My pleasure

Will check it out!
I hope you will love it, please let me know!
A good book that provides background to this topic is Fredrick C. Beiser’s, WELTSCHMERZ: Pessimism in German Philosophy 1860 - 1900.

You perfectly captured that ache.

Personally, I don't believe in any higher purpose or judgement but I wish it were different.
Is that part at the end, “[removed for inciting violence]”, you being ironic, or some kind of Substack censorship?
It's me being ironic lol
Good
